Marion Medical Mission

Your Church at Work Around The World……….

Marion Medical Mission

This is God’s Story: Loving your neighbor is like loving God

We are in the midst of a great and glorious battle. We have joined the extreme poor in Malawi, Tanzania, and Zambia in their fight for a sustainable source of safe drinking water. God has not called the US Marines. He has called us. The Shallow Well Program is Holy Ground. This is a spiritual journey, one that is life changing.

All 33 of the MMM volunteers who were on this year’s mission teams to Africa are back
from the front lines, back from the fire, back from the mountain top. The poverty stunned us. The problems overwhelmed us. Yet, hand in hand with God’s people as God’s people, the miraculous happened.

We prayed hard and often. Then, we got up off our knees and went to work. Together from the mountain top we saw the Promised Land: 2,575 wells were built between September 1, 2012 and November 3, 2012. That’s an estimated 386,250 people (231,750 children) with a sustainable source of safe drinking water in 9 weeks! There are another 145 wells waiting for pumps and under construction, giving us a total estimated well count for 2012 of 2,720!

Together we are a part of each other. Together we are one. Together as God’s people we are being made whole, complete, who we were created to be. Together we are made in God’s image. Together we are somebody. Together we participated in the impossible.

We ask you to help us tell the story, this miracle we are a part of, the impossible we have participated in Africa. From this side in the United States, we need to harvest what God has already given. As of mid-November, we have 1,108 wells yet to fund for this year... 1,108 opportunities to share God’s blessings with the extreme poor.

“Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth...” We say it often. It happens when we bring His kingdom to earth by what we choose to do, how we choose to love Him enough to model His heart and life.
